Our Traditional® 6" fillet/boning knife is known far and wide by commercial and charter fishers as their favorite knife. Designed with a stiff blade, it makes fileting and boning various types of panfish easier than ever. It can even be used to debone poultry and smaller cuts of meat. This knife features a traditional wood style handle that is favored by many fishers for its excellent cuts and long-lasting construction. The blade may develop a black patina over the course of use, but this is completely normal. If you would prefer a larger or smaller fillet/boning knife, we also have 5”, 7”, and 8" versions as well. Classic design that just works
This is one of those knives that proves simple can be best. The carbon steel blade holds a razor-sharp edge longer than most stainless blades I’ve used — it just bites right into whatever you’re cutting. The wood handle gives it that old-school feel and fits comfortably in the hand. It does take a little care (keep it dry and oiled so the carbon steel doesn’t stain), but that’s part of the charm. A solid, dependable knife that feels like it could last a lifetime.
