Can I put my knives in the dishwasher?
Dishwashers can dull and damage knife blades over time. The high heat, harsh detergents, and constant movement can cause edges to corrode, and can loosen handles or rivets. It’s best to hand wash knives with mild soap and warm water, then dry immediately to keep them sharp and in good condition.
What is DexSteel®
DexSteel® is our proprietary American high-carbon, high-alloy stainless steel. It includes a fine grain structure which enhances edge sharpness and durability. It helps make an out-of-the-box razor sharp edge that will stay sharp.
What's the difference between carbon and stainless steel blades?
Carbon steel knives are known for their sharp edges that are easy to resharpen. However, they require more care since they are at a greater-risk of corrosion or discoloration if not dried and oiled properly. Stainless steel knives resist rust and staining, making them lower maintenance and the preferred choice for commerical kitchens. Please see our Carbon or Stainless Steel article for more information.
